A public meeting is being held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 pm at 91 Preston, Placedo, TX 77977, to discuss the Victoria County WCID #2’s increased service capabilities which will occur by adding new components to the existing wastewater treatment processes. District proposes to expand the plant from a capacity of 72,000 to 108,000 gallons per day. This includes an Aeration Basin, Clarifier, Sludge Recirculation Tank, Sludge Holding Tank, Sludge Drying Bed, Chlorine Contact Basin, Blower Building with 2 Blowers, Underground Piping from Clarifier to Chlorine Contact Basin, Underground Piping from Sludge Holding Tank to Drying Bed and Miscellaneous Appurtenant Items. The District will also develop an asset management plan. These improvements will serve the Placedo community located in Victoria County, TX. One of the purposes of this meeting is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives to it. The total estimated cost of the project is $810,562.00. The estimated monthly bill for a typical resident is currently $75.38. A user rate increase is not expected to finance this project.
